The Department of Sociology proposes to appoint an Associate or full Professor in Sociology (Quantitative Methods). This full-time, permanent post, based in the Department of Sociology, Oxford, is available from 1 January 2015, or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be made in association with a Fellowship at Nuffield College.

The successful candidate will hold a doctorate in a relevant subject area, and will have a strong record of research at an international level. The ability to provide excellent class and tutorial teaching to high-achieving and challenging students and supervision of graduate students for the Department is essential. The post-holder will require good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. A record of success in securing research funding is
also desirable.

Grade 36S: Salary £44,620 - £59,914 p.a. (plus pensionable College Allowance of £21,462)
