Dr Elena Mylona's biographical statement

Dr Elena Mylona (she/her) is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Time Use Research (CTUR), UCL.
Elena holds a Ph.D. in Sociology (ESRC-funded), an MA in Social Sciences Research Methods, and a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Quantitative Methods, all from the University of Warwick. Upon the completion of her PhD, she held an Early Career Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Institute of Advanced Study/Department of Sociology at the University of Warwick.

Her research focuses on time use, adolescent health, physical activity and sports, and advanced quantitative methods. Elena has published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Time Use Research (JTUR), and presented at several national and international conferences, including the International Association for Time Use Research (IATUR). She has also produced data management guides for time diary datasets for the Centre for Time Use Research and Centre for Longitudinal Studies, UCL, and contributed to reports for the UK Social Mobility Commission and the What Works Centre for Wellbeing.

As an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), complying with the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF) for teaching in higher education, Elena has taught foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral students, and has supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in Sociology, Statistics, Public Health and Research Methods.
