Dr Juana Lamote de Grignon P. is an associate researcher at the Centre for Time Use Research (CTUR) and the manager of the Multinational Time Use Study (MTUS). She earned her PhD in Social and Political Science from the European University Institute in 2015. Shortly after, she joined CTUR as a postdoctoral fellow in Behavioral Tracing, working on a collaborative project with the Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute to study sleep using time use diaries. She is the author of "Sleep Differences in the UK Between 1974 and 2015: Insights from Detailed Time Diaries," published in Journal of Sleep Research. Her research on sleep continues to evolve, with a current focus on examining global trends in sleep behavior. As the MTUS manager, Juana is dedicated to expanding the study’s coverage to include more countries, particularly those in low- and middle-income regions, and enhancing the dataset by incorporating additional variables to increase its research utility. Since 2022, she has been collaborating with the International Labour Organization (ILO) to explore how time use diaries can enrich the measurement and analysis of child labor. Additionally, she devotes part of her time to improving access to time use data. She is the creator of timeuse, a Stata package designed to simplify the manipulation of time use data, available through Stata’s SSC archive.
